An extraordinary adventure through vast natural beauty
Discover a land of mountains, lakes, volcanoes, gravel tracks and open roads. Join us for a ten day trip of a lifetime, boasting an itinerary mixing technical gravel riding, volcano hiking and road cycling. World class accommodation and cuisine only adds to the magical experience - a real adventure deep into the Andes.
Sun 3 - Tue 12 November 2019
Cross the mighty Andes twice, in the shadows of vast volcanoes
A tale of two halves as we ride rugged Argentinean gravel tracks before rolling on smooth tarmac open roads on the Chilean side. A hike to summit Volcan Mocho on our ‘rest day’ separates the two.
A true test of endurance, with famously unreliable weather, unforgiving terrain and some long (up to 200km) days on the bike
A journey perhaps better recorded by bodies of water as we ride past lakes Nahuel Huapi, Correntoso, Traful, Maliquina, Lacar, Lolog, Currhue, Pirihueico, Neltume, Panguipulli, Rinihue, Ranca, Llanquihue, Rupanco, Puyehue and.. you get the picture
Indulge in world famous steak, fish and red wine (and more) at beautiful accommodation throughout the trip
Arrive early into Bariloche to enjoy this amazing region, whether that means fly fishing, glaciers, or more
Expertly crafted daily routes with industry leading on the road service including guides, mechanics and vehicle support
All ride food and drink, lunches and coffee stops
Pre-loaded GPS devices if you prefer not to bring your own
Accommodation, laundry, all meals and alcoholic drinks (within reason)
Transfers from and to Bariloche airport at the start and end of the trip
At present, bike hire is not available for this trip
Travel insurance is not included but appropriate cover is mandatory for all guests
Flights and on-trip staff gratuities are not included
Typical gravel riding day: 100km, 1,500m
Typical road cycling day: 120km, 2,000m
Road surface: mix of roads and gravel (a specialist gravel bike is essential, with a change of wheels and tyres for smooth roads)
The variety of riding (and hiking), some long days (200km) and “four seasons in one day” make this trip a real challenge for all riders
Please be aware this trip is harder than it might appear; long relentless days on gravel are a real test of mind, body and machine. It is essential that you have experience of riding on a variety of surfaces ahead of arriving on the trip.
Please see our FAQs for more information on our trip difficulties
