Explore Africa’s iconic Great Rift Valley on two wheels
This unique landscape of deep lakes and high mountains provides the backdrop to a feast of riding, with a mix of smooth roads and gravel tracks. We’ll become immersed in the local way of life both new and old, riding with the Kenyan Riders pro team and experiencing the ancient Maasai culture. With a two day wildlife safari before heading back to Nairobi, this spectacular trip is a special way to end the year.
Sat 23 Nov - Tue 3 Dec 2019
A route overflowing with iconic highlights, with the Great Rift Valley and Maasai Mara National Reserve providing the backdrop to an incredible riding and travel experience
Visit the town of Iten - “home of champions” - where the Kalenjin tribe has famously produced a long and prestigious line of olympic and world champion endurance athletes. Also home to the Kenyan Riders, who we will share the road with for a day to gain a unique insight into the team.
Experience rural Kenyan life and hospitality, evident in every village we pass through, with elders looking on and kids jumping for joy in appreciation
See some of the most spectacular wildlife on the planet - flamingos in Lake Bogoria, crocodiles and fish eagles at Lake Baringo, an elephant orphanage on the outskirts of Nairobi, not to mention the odd 60 year old tortoise wandering the valley floor.
Take red dirt roads through Tea Country arriving at the Maasai Mara, where we’ll conclude the trip with an exclusive two night camp. Don’t be surprised to wake up to lions or hippos at your tent door.
